Thanks to Cancer Today for sharing my story of thriving after breast cancer! Less than a year after radiation, I found myself embarking on a new challenge: zip lining through the jungles of Belize.
Offered as an excursion during my first Breast Cancer Thriver's cruise, I could barely contain my excitement as we left the safety of our ship to the balmy heat of the Belize jungle.
The beauty was overwhelming but the power of overcoming a Stage III breast cancer diagnosis, sixteen weeks of chemotherapy, five surgeries and twenty eight radiation treatments was exhilarating. Hiking miles through the jungle, sipping fresh coconut juice and zip lining offered reassurance that my body was healing physically. That knowledge, along with the support of 200 breast cancer survivors helped me heal emotionally. Click here to read the article in Cancer Today!
